In cities around the world there is growing interest in finding new ways to improve the future of places that take account both of economic growth and social wellbeing. This paper develops the idea of "place difference" as a practical tool for supporting place-based social innovation, looking at the experience of Brixton, in south London and the UK and the Swedish city of Malmö.
Social LIfe were invited to present this paper at the first Social Frontiers conference in November 2013, organised by Nesta, Tepsie, Glasgow Caledonian University and the Rockerfeller Foundation.
